Mobile Newton Room Inauguration

Luxembourg Tech School (LTS) has been collaborating with Boeing, FIRST Scandinavia and Luxair to bring the Mobile Newton Room (MNR) to Luxembourg. The MNR is a mobile classroom designed to inspire young students to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics through a realistic rescue scenario that involves flying a plane.

Approximately 400 students between the ages of 13 and 16 will take part in the Up in the Air with Numbers module. Working in small teams, they calculate a flight plan for a rescue mission and then experience piloting through this mission using advanced simulators inspired by real aircraft cockpits.

In addition to guiding students in LTS programs carried out in schools across Luxembourg, LTS Coaches will also act as Newton Teachers and Newton Flight Simulator Instructors. They guide each group of students through their five-hour-long lessons at the MNR. As with all LTS programs, this educational initiative is offered free of charge.

To mark the opening, LTS Founder Sergio Coronado was joined by Yuriko Backes, Minister for Mobility and Public Works; Per-Arild Konradsen, Founder & CEO of FIRST Scandinavia; Dr. Michael Haidinger from Boeing; Gilles Feith, CEO of Luxair; and Luc Weis, Director of SCRIPT, for a first visit. The Mobile Newton Room will remain at the Geesseknäppchen campus until 13 February 2026.
